We’ve seen the joke since the launch of Pokemon GO. “Niantic is making Harry Potter GO!” Wizards and witches galore on the streets. Horcruxes everywhere. Or fantastical beasts. Or, I dunno, fake beards? Is that a Harry Potter thing? Anyway, I didn’t give it much of a thought. There wasn’t any merit to that rumor, right?

Apparently not. Snopes felt it necessary to bust the hoax, which leaves me with just one question: Did anyone actually think this was a real thing? How would that have even made sense. Even if that had been in the pipeline, with how busy and frustrated they’ve been, Niantic hasn’t had the time to develop a new version. Well, regardless, it’s not being made. If that’s news to you, then I’m sorry for your loss.
