The spirit of Pokemon GO is to go out and find Pokemon, Pokestops, and gyms. The intended experience is to specifically explore and find what’s out there. That way, when you stumble across something rare, it’s exciting. Of course, several apps have come out to step over that part of the game and give players the end goal without all of that “playing the game” nonsense. What’s worse is that using these apps may end up getting your banned.
Part of the terms you accepted when you downloaded Pokemon Go was to not dig into the game or alter it in any way. Those fancy maps that show you where Pokemon are? Those violate the terms. Did you find a useful app that changes your GPS data? That violates the terms too. If it accesses or changes the game in any way, it most likely violates the terms. You will most likely be safe as long as you stay away from services that require your login. Or you could just try to actually play the game.
