Pokemon GO wants to be the very best, and it was for a while. For 74 days. But now, it is no longer to top grossing app in Apple’s store. Supercell’s Clash Royale has taken that spot. Pokemon GO still leads the Android charts, but not forever. Niantic’s app is still holding strong, though. There are still tens of millions of users each month and plenty of opportunities for growth in the future.

Supercell, with their countless microtransactions across many games, has held this spot before. Hell, they almost held it for a year with Clash of Clans. They are much larger and have been in this fight for much longer than Niantic has. However, maybe we can all find solace that Pokemon GO never needed to hire Liam Neeson to get people to download it.
