Everywhere Pokemon GO gets released, it gets another boon of new users. It’s no surprise that Niantic Labs wants to launch their hit app in every possible country. The bad news is that China, with its largest population of any country on the planet, is currently saying “No” to Pokemon GO.
China’s decision comes from security risks. Until the government can be entirely sure there are no problems with privacy, Pokemon GO cannot be allowed to launch in the country. China isn’t alone in security concerns. Virtually everywhere has raised the concern of geographical tracking among other things.
It is unsure what all needs to happen before Pokemon GO gets the all clear from the Chinese government. I think we can say for sure that Niantic Labs will likely be very accommodating to anything they need to do for everything to work out just fine.
