If you haven’t been completely distracted by trying to catch ’em all in Pokemon GO, you probably remember Pokemon GO Plus. If not, that’s the wrist accessory intended to pair with the app. Originally, it was announced for a late-July release. If you’re wondering why you don’t already have one on your wrist, that’s because it has been pushed back to September.
To be honest, a delay is probably a good thing. We’d much rather have a working product tomorrow than a broken one today. However, it is easy to get impatient. Pokemon GO Plus will pair with our phones to track steps for egg hatching and alert us when Pokemon or Pokestops pop up. The most impressive function, though, is with how it interacts with the game. You can claim Pokestops with it and even catch Pokemon. The caveat is that it will only try to catch pokemon you’ve already caught before, and will only use Poke Balls (unless, perhaps, you’re out of them).
