Soon, the popular mobile game will bask in the light of Alolan Pokémon. Or the Kanto natives in Alolan form, at least. According to a recent blog post by developers Niantic, various Gen 1 Pokémon will start appearing with their “Alolan forms” from the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon 3DS titles.

“Sunny days are ahead! Whether your forecast calls for rain or shine, we’re celebrating all around the world by introducing some special Pokémon from the tropical Alola region to Pokémon GO.”

No further information is provided beyond that, except for an image of several silhouetted Pokémon on an island backdrop. Assuming these are a few of the new forms we can expect to see, then it only takes a few rounds of “Who’s that Pokémon?!” to parse which ones we can expect to see. More information on this as it develops.

Some are excited about Dugrio and its luxurious hair. Personally, I can’t wait to see the obnoxiously tall Eggexcutor.
