A special phone required to trade?
When it comes to the wonderful internet, people know that rumors are everywhere. Some are very believable, while others are just downright ridiculous. This one here is a little bit of both. Due to the fact that trading in Pokemon Go has been talked about every day since the game’s release, a ton of rumors have surfaced over the past year. This new rumors suggests that trading will be coming, but will require a special phone in order to work. This “Nintendo Phone” will somehow allow players to swap out their Pokemon and trade with anybody else who has the phone. The real question here is if this is true, who is going to spend the money to buy a new phone just to trade Pokemon?
I mean, the nests change every two weeks, Pokemon are easy to catch, and at the end of the day it’s just a game. With GameBoy trading, players needed a special cable in order to trade with their friends. If that happens to be the case with this phone, that would be pretty insane. Technology has come such a long way and you should be able to trade off of just Wi-Fi alone, which again brings me back to asking why this new phone would be necessary? This would have to be a clear and deliberate attempt to make players upset and turn a profit.
At the end of the day, I don’t expect this rumor to be true. I think it would be absolutely horrible for a game that’s already on a pretty steep decline and would deter even more users from playing. If I were Niantic, I would try to keep things the same and listen to the community. Do whatever they want and work with the people that have stood by the game since day one. The population has really turned away from this game, but there are still plenty of loyal fans who continue to play every single day and they shouldn’t be ignored.
