We may have a new generation of Pokémon on the way. If a recent promotional image is to be trusted.
The official Pokémon Go Twitter account posted a piece of artwork recently in celebration of the mobile game’s two year anniversary. It was full of the various additions made to the game over the last few years: Alolan variants, trading/gifts, Mew, 7KM eggs.

The interesting part? We also see Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup, the three starter Pokémon for the 4th gen. So far we only have the first three generations of Pokémon available for capture and competition in the game.
