The massive selection of Pokémon are being made available in Pokémon GO, one generation at a time. And now, the only region left has been added. Kalos region Pokémon are appearing in the popular AR game. And to celebrate their arrival, Niantic is hosting a special end-of-year event.
An event will be taking place from today (December 2, 2020) until December 8, where certain Pokémon will appear in the wild, from eggs, and in Raids. There will also be special field research centered around Mega Evolutions, something that was first developed in the Kalos region. Here are the details.
- Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Bunnelby, Fletchling, Litleo, and Noibat will appear more frequently in the wild. Additionally, Klefki will appear exclusively in France. They will also appear in eggs.
- Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie can hatch from 5 km eggs.
- Espurr can appear in 10km eggs.
- Event-exclusive Field Research and Timed Research tasks will be available, rewarding Mega Energy.
Over time, more Kalos region Pokémon will likely be added to the game. But with this event, we finally have every region/generation of Pokémon represented in Pokémon GO. Considering there are over 1,000 Pokémon spanning over 20 years of games, that’s a pretty remarkable achievement.
Don’t forget that the pandemic is still ongoing and special caution needs to be taken as to stay safe and healthy. Fortunately, Niantic has reimplemented various social distancing rates for rewards to assist in safe play.
