Niantic continues to bring in a legendary year with their latest special event: Hoenn legendaries Latias and Latios. The two Dragon- and Psychic-type Pokémon have appeared in raid battles this week and will be sticking around for a limited time before flying away to different parts of the world.

If you’re in Europe and Asia, you might spot a Latias. If you live in the Americas and Africa, expect to find a Latios instead. On May 8, the two Pokémon will swap locations. This way, all trainers will have a chance to catch both before they leave on June 5.

Latias and Latios, known as the Eon Pokémon, are drawn to spirits of compassion. Intelligent creatures, they can communicate with humans using telepathy. Their feathers can refract light in order to appear invisible, and they’re fast enough to overtake jet planes. The well-loved duo would make a happy-but-powerful companion to your party.

Of course, since they’re in raid battles, you need to fight them. Be sure to have Pokémon strong against Psychic and Dragon types. Fairy and Dark types are excellent choices.
