E3 2018 is coming to an end. We saw a slew of information regarding the upcoming Pokemon Lets Go games, including the reveal of a special gift, Mew.

During the Nintendo Direct on Tuesday, the company announced that if you preorder Pokemon Lets Go with the Poke Ball Plus accessory, Mew will be a reward hidden inside the peripheral. Before the direct, they announced that people could transfer Pokemon between Lets Go and the Pokemon Go mobile game.

When research tasks were introduced to Pokemon Go, the final reward was the mythical Pokemon, Mew. So instead of preordering, why not just transfer Mew from Go to let’s Go?

Unfortunately, you cant do that. Serebii, one of the most popular sources for Pokemon stats and information, confirmed that Mew cannot be transferred from the mobile game to the console one. This means that the Poke Ball Plus will be the only way to acquire the legendary in the Lets Go games.

They also confirmed that the Mew gift will only be available for a limited time, though the timeframe itself has not been determined. It’s possible that Mew will then be transferable after this point, though it seems unlikely.

Heed this warning, anyone who planned to transfer their legendaries. You may find that certain pokemon will not be able to, likely due to planned promotions.
