They Just Won’t Stop

Niantic recently announced the details on the number of downloads Pokemon Go has gotten and let’s just say the numbers have slowed down over the last few months. In an effort to get more players onboard, the studio is hard at work planning, working on and announcing updates.

To recap, they just released Gen 2 not too long ago, and now they’re teasing some new things that are sure to get players’ attention. As it turns out, Gen 2 was just the beginning.

New Additions

Trading is supposed to finally be a reality this year! At least that’s what Niantic CEO John Hanke has confirmed. This comes in light of the studio removing some unused trading related codes in the game.

Another addition players can expect is player vs. player battles. Whether this will function like Gyms already do remains to be seen, as there have been no further details on this. However, there are rumors that a new Gym system will be taking place sometime this year.
