Nintendo and the Pokémon Company have revealed the next generation in the famous franchise. Introducing Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield!
Nintendo held a direct on Wednesday morning. In it, they detailed the next Pokémon game. Taking place in the Galar region, a European looking landscape described as having idyllic countryside and contemporary cities vast plains and snow-covered mountains. The towns appear to have an industrial age British style to them, with brick and metal cogs all around.
They also revealed the three starter Pokémon for the generation. There’s Grookey, a grass-type chimp Pokémon; Scorbunny, the fire-type rabbit; and Sobble, the water-type lizard.
Pokémon GO isn’t exactly caught up in the full library of Pokémon species. Only recently have developers Niantic introduced fourth generation Pokémon into the game (this new one is gen 8, for reference). So while we might not see Gen 8 Pokémon added in just yet, we can expect some kind of promotional content to appear in Pokémon GO over the next year.
