Do you have too many eggs? Don’t feel like walking 10km just to make them hatch? Now’s your chance to get caught up on that hard-boiled backlog. Niantic has announced The Pokémon GO Eggstravaganza, where all eggs, regardless of requirements, will hatch in only 2km from now until April 2.

With the addition of third generation pokemon not long ago, and more being added over time, we are seeing more and more baby pokemon added to the roster. This means egg hatching! Unfortunately, since bikes are often too fast to efficiently work on that step counter, players wanting to hatch eggs need to do a fair bit of walking. This event makes our lives a touch easier, at least.
Eggs take either a 2km, 5km, or 10km distance to hatch. Each tier containing rarer Pokemon than the last. This is akin to the Pokemon console games, where eggs hatch based on the player’s step count. For the duration of this event, all three egg tiers will only take 2km to reach their birth action. This means 5 times as many snorlaxes as before.
Even better, the cold weather is starting to fade away in favor of the cool breeze of spring, so nature walks won’t be so bad.
