The Pokemon Company has always been incredibly protective over their IP, and it seems that nobody is safe, even if they manage to get away with it for years. For instance, Pixelmon, a very popular Minecraft Pokemon mod that was released back in 2012 has just been shut down by order of The Pokemon Company. Even five years later, this mod wasn’t able to escape the justice of The Pokemon Company.
MrMasochism, the creator of the Minecraft mod, issued some statements on his website’s blog:
“With much sadness, but keeping all our fond memories, we must announce that Pixelmon is ending its development,”
“With much sadness, but keeping all our fond memories, we must announce that Pixelmon is ending its development,”
Of course, the creator, moderators, and users of this mod had to wonder when and if this day would ever come, but after so many years of enjoyment, I think it’s safe to say that nobody could have seen this coming, and it will be sorely missed.
