With Pokemon Go celebrating its one year anniversary, we get a little event for ourselves. While it is certainly smaller than we first anticipated, it’s still pretty cool. To start things off, we will be able to catch a special Pikachu. This Pikachu is walking around wearing Ash Ketchum’s hat, which while only being a cosmetic change, is still pretty neat.
In addition to this special little Pokemon, we are also getting limited time Anniversary boxes. Naturally, these must be purchased from the shop. If you decide to buy one, the boxes contain Incubators, Max Revives, Ultra Balls, and a Raid Pass. Like I said, we were expecting quite a bit more from Niantic, but I don’t think the Summer of updates is over just yet.
We should be seeing a Legendary release fairly soon, probably closer to the live event in Chicago on July 22. This anniversary event is running from today until July 24, so if you really want a Pikachu with a hat, you better act quickly. I guess we just have to sit around and wait to see some Legendary Pokemon in a little while!
