Pokémon Go recently reach its two year anniversary. Boy how time flies. Through these last two years, the game has evolved to offer so much more than it originally had. To celebrate this milestone, Niantic has announced an upcoming costume for Pikachu.
Going on now until July 31, players will find an increased number of Pichu and Pikachu in their area. There is also a rare chance that these Pikachu will be wearing a fun summer outfit: good shades and a lovely sun hat. This might be one of my favorite outfits for the electric mouse yet.
Players will also be able to purchase new Pikachu style clothing for their avatars, ranging from shirts to Pikachu ears. You may need a gold Pikachu fan medal to access these shop items, however.
If Pikachu isn’t your thing, then Niantic still has something in mind for you. The company also announced the addition of an old, rare Pokémon: Celebi. The mythical fairy Pokémon will be available by completing special research tasks.
No date for Celebi has been confirmed, but keep your eyes peeled around the time of Pokémon Go Fest.
