Pokemon GO is in need for some updates. There’s no denying that. A lot of the updates the game needs are pretty large. We’re talking about Pokemon tracking, trading, battling, and more. Regardless, Niantic seems to spend a lot of time on smaller, inconsequential things. Specifically, this time, they’ve updated the Pokedex a little.
The Pokedex is split into two parts: caught and seen. All Pokemon you’ve caught get organized into the former. However, all Pokemon you’ve seen still appear in the Pokedex. In a way, it worked as a huge tease. You pretty much only saw Pokemon you tried to catch, but failed. But now it goes further. Pokemon players see in gyms are now logged in the Pokedex as “seen.” It’s not clear exactly why that was necessary, but maybe Niantic has a legitimate plan in place for this change.
