When it comes to Nintendo brands, rarity is all too common. While Pokemon Go is more Niantic than Nintendo, they too are experiencing quick shortages. Pokemon Go Fest 2018 has already sold out, and people are resorting to scalpers to gain access to the event.
Scalping, for those unaware, is the act of purchasing rare or limited time items in bulk, so that they can sell them for a higher price later on. This happens with everything from sports tickets to the NES Classic mini game console. We’re also seeing it happen with tickets for Pokemon Go Fest 2018 in Chicago. The average eBay listing sells a ticket for anywhere between 200 to 500 dollars.
This is understandably infuriating, especially if you’re someone who didn’t get to buy a ticket before they sold out. Though fear not, some semblance of vengeance is being had against the scalpers. There have been numerous reports of eBay listers complaining that they’re listing are being canceled, due to the nontransferable nature of the tickets. Some accounts have even been banned from the service for receiving too many complaints.
Its good to see some just desserts take place. While you might be desperate for a ticket to the event. Just remember, don’t buy from scalpers.
