After much wait, and to even more surprise, Pokemon GO will soon become available in China.
About a year and a half after the game’s release, developers Niantic announced that they are partnering with Chinese publisher NetEase to get the game to China by the latter half of 2018.
Initially, Pokemon GO was banned entirely in China. This was due to government concerns over national security as well as public safety. China has a history of censorship as well, something that has affected a fair degree of entertainment media for the country.
