Niantic has now officially announced its partnership with the Knight Foundation to begin community events all over the United States. Pokemon Go is an app designed to bring people together, and ever since the big MewTwo in New York trailer, players have been dying to get involved in some large community events. Well, if you live in Charlotte, North Carolina, you might have your chance.
This weekend on May 7th, a community event will be taking place as a part of the Open Streets 704 festival where streets are closed off for cyclists, runners, and the general public. The city has dedicated 16 PokeStops and 2 gyms specifically for the event. The community gathering will be running from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST.
While this isn’t an event for everybody, it’s great news for everyone! This is the first full on start of community events all over the United States. Whether it’s in California, Maine, or anywhere in between, we’re going to have all events covered right here! Make sure you check back often to see if there’s an event in your area!
