Niantic is kicking off the new year with new life. Pokémon GO is hosting another Adventure Sync Hatchathon! From now until January 15, trainers will encounter a number of egg-based incentives, rates, and rewards.

As you can probably guess, a Hatchathon is a two-week long event with the primary goal of hatching as many eggs as possible. To encourage this, drop rates and additional rewards relating to eggs.

• Higher chance of receiving 5 km and 10 km Eggs from PokéStops and Gyms

The concept of a hatchathon changed with the game implemented Adventure Sync. This new-ish feature synchronizes your Pokémon GO walking rate with your mobile devices fitness tracker. This allowed the user to accumulate walking distance for the game without it having to actively be running.
