Pokemon GO has already seen a fair update in December. For the past couple of weeks, we’ve been assuming that’s all there is for this month. However, The Silph Road has been digging into the code for Pokemon GO (as they like to do), and they found something that may assume otherwise. Their findings seem to insist that Niantic Labs is far from finished with dishing out the holiday cheer. That’s right, there may be more than Pikachus in Santa hats this year.

Supposedly, Niantic has added in references to presents inside the code. These mentions seem to be broken down into multiple tiers of either achievement or rarity. There were some other additions, such as the phrase “HasHolidayItems” and a new icon for the shop.

However, if a Christmas event is coming, it better get here soon. There are already only a handful of days until the 25th. I would be pretty surprised to see a full fledged event kick off with only a few days to spare. Then again, I do like surprises.
