It looks like concerned parents and players have made a change to Pokemon Go. Ever since the game’s release, Bullet Punch has remained unchanged. When a Pokemon used the move, bullet holes would appear over the rival Pokemon. The bullet holes would be accompanied by the screen lighting up rapidly, as if a gun was being fired and there was muzzle flash. Well, seeing as how parents tend to not like it when their children are exposed to guns, they filed several complaints to Niantic.
Other than the fear of gun violence, players also hated this move because it was so distracting. The bullet holes would cover areas of the screen and block players from seeing captions and in-game text. Since everybody was continuously complaining about this move, it looks like Niantic finally listened. Instead of having bullet holes, the move now shows a flurry of fists. These fists don’t cover up any major parts of the screen, giving the players full visibility. Mix that with the removal of screen flashes, and players no longer need to worry about unnecessary distractions while taking down a gym.
This change is purely cosmetic and doesn’t change anything about the move. The damage is remaining the same, as well as the rate of speed. Odds are, this move will never be changed again and I don’t expect to see many other moves change as the game moves onward. This was probably a one-time deal and Niantic will refrain from distracting players in the future.
