A new season is about to kick off within Pokémon GO. And with is comes a collection of events, a new Go Fest, and even the Ultra Beast Nihilego.
Developers Niantic recently revealed the details for their next season for the popular AR mobile game. Dubbed the “Season of GO” (creative name, we know), it begins with a new Pokémon GO Fest event. A festival of sorts, this is their recurring paid-ticket event that players can participate in from all around the world. Beginning the first day of June, the season will last until August.
Go Fest 2022
Pokémon GO Fest 2022 will take place on June 4-5, from 10 AM to 6 PM each day (local time). A ticketed event, it costs $15 to participate, which can be purchased from within the Pokémon GO item store. Details about what will be specifically available were not detailed, but the trailer for the event did tease the reveal of Ultra Beast Nihilego.
Between the trailer and some game code that data miners have found, there’s an implication that Nihilego will appear using some kind of supernatural portal system. This is how the Ultra Beasts appeared in their original Pokémon Game, Sun and Moon, after all.
GO Fest will also host three live location events. These events will feature special photo opportunities, giveaways, and more. Those are taking place in Berlin, Sapporo, and Seattle.
GO Battle League Season 11
Alongside the Season of GO will also be a new Battle League season. Fans of PvP should gear up and get ready to show their mettle.
Events
After GO Fest, a new Adventure Week begins. This will be a fossil-focused game event, much like last time. After that is a collaborative event with the Pokémon Trading Card Game. We’ve already seen some of the cool gimmicks this crossover has introduced so we can’t wait to see what else is in store.
There will be quite a few different themed events that take place, as well. The ones listed are Cities, Forests, Mountains, Beach & Water. Northern Hemisphere, and Southern Hemisphere. Each event will bring with it increased odds of certain Pokémon spawning in the wild, with some of them having the change to be shiny.
Special Pokémon may also appear from eggs during this time, This includes the possibility of Shiny variants like Stuffle, Magnemite, and Yungoos.
While they have more planned for July and August, details on these have not been shared yet.
Everything Else
Previously, players had to be Level 40 to be able to collect Candy XL. This has been lowered to level 31. Otherwise, the season will see things like extended Lure Module times, extra trades, extra Pokémon candy, and so on. You can find more details, like which Pokémon will appear when on the official blog post.
Sounds like a good summer to get into Pokémon GO again.
