Transferring Pokémon between games has always been a bit of a tricky process. Sometimes it’s a simple trade, other times you have to route them through a series of features and networks. While we know that you can transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO into the upcoming Let’s Go games, how will it work past that?
Pokémon Let’s Go may be the next Pokémon game, but it will be followed up shortly after by another title, one that fans are referring to as a “core” game. This is because the Let’s Go games are considered a remake of the first generation. The classic world treated to modern quality. Nintendo has already announced that another Pokémon game, a new generation, will be coming in 2019. But will transferring Pokémon to it be as much a hassle as it has been in the past?
According to director Junichi Masuda in an interview with Gamespot, it shouldn’t be too bad.
“We’re definitely always thinking of that kind of forward-moving functionality, especially since we’ve introduced Pokemon Bank. Now, up to Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, you’re able to store your Pokemon, and we know they’re very important to everyone. I mean, obviously, people would be very sad if they couldn’t use their Pokemon in a future game. So, it does get complicated when you talk about the details and we’re still figuring it out, but we do have plans to find ways to let players use their Pokemon in the next game.”
Not much is known about the upcoming title at this time, but at least we have this.
Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee launch on Nintendo Switch on November 16.
