I imagine it’s fairly difficult business to market in-app purchases. You have to charge just right amount to make a profit. Then, throw in different regions and currency. There’s no way that alone wouldn’t give you financial nightmares.
That’s why it comes as no surprise that Niantic Labs is set to alter prices of in-app purchases across the globe. According to the Sunday Express, Apple is set to increase prices in the United Kingdom, Turkey, and India. The resulting prices in these areas could be up to 25% higher than it is now.
This move is likely made to try and regulate the price across the board. This may not exactly match the actual conversion rate, but other factors go into this as well.
So far, this change in price is only confirmed for iOS devices. If the same price hike is coming to Android, we’ve yet to hear about it.
