If you have to pay for a code, do not get one! Niantic has made it very clear that these codes will be handed out by the company only. You will never be charged for a code and you should never buy one. Odds are, these scammers will obtain codes and sell them, making you think that they are legitimate.

After a short time, they will sell expensive bundles of codes that will not work. They will gain your trust and then throw it away once you’ve given them enough money. As far as players on Apple devices go, the code system has not been implemented yet. Niantic and Apple are still working on an agreement and you can’t enter any codes into an Apple device.

If you are desperate for a code, you will have to wait. The benefits aren’t that great and they are not worth losing money over. If you are willing to spend money on codes, just buy items directly from the shop instead. The shop is a place that you can trust and you know exactly what you will be getting.
