We already knew that Mew was coming to Pokemon GO. But thanks to the efforts of acclaimed Data Miner ZeChrales, we discover that a Shiny Mew variant is coded into the game.

The images (seen above) are taken from ZeChrales’ Twitch stream, and they’ve said that the 3D models themselves will be coming soon.

Here’s what we can glean from this. With the Research Update coming today (March 30), encountering a shiny Mew is entirely possible. How many chances players will get to encounter mew is unknown, so it may be a while before we ever see the shiny version.

At least we know now, and players won’t waste their time chasing after the impossible.
