Another update has launched on Pokémon GO, introducing several new Gen 4 Pokémon.
Originating from the Sinnoh region of Pokémon Diamon and Pearl, a selection of Pokémon are set to appear within the popular mobile game. In an update post by Niantic, they list Lickilicky, Tangrowth, Cranidos, and Shieldon. But according to the image that headed the post, we also see Ambipom, Gallade, and Tanmega.
Niantic explained that Pokémon that are Gen 4 evolutions can unlock their Sinnoh-based stage using the rare Sinnoh Stone. Every Pokémon in the header image fits this description.
Cranidos and Shieldon are the two provided exceptions, which can be found naturally in the wild.
On the more competitive side of things, Niantic also implies some changes to the Raid Battle system. They describe them as more “powerful and sturdy when you challenge them.” Though it’s not clear what this means at this time.
