The beloved painter Pokémon has started to appear in Pokémon GO, but not in the normal way. Smeargle is photobombing the new Go Snapshot feature!
Recently, developers Niantic released a new feature to the popular mobile game, Go Snapshot. This mode allowed users to pose their Pokémon in augmented reality, positioning and posing them as needed. This allowed them to take high-quality pictures of their favorite Pokémon.
Now, their pictures might not be as perfect as expected. When taking pictures of a Pokémon with the snapshot feature, there’s a chance that Smeargle will appear in the photo unannounced. When this happens, the very same Pokémon will appear nearby in the world map. Then you just have to catch it like any other Pokémon.
Don’t worry, the game will save a Smeargle-free version of the photo, in case you lined up the perfect shot.
It’s not known just how likely this is to happen, so you may have to take a few photos. We can confirm, however, that when it does happen, the camera flash will flash three times in quick succession, instead of the traditional one time.
