The great ruler of the ocean, Kyorge, has made its way into Pokemon GO. The legendary water-type is available now worldwide via Raid battles. Though the opportunity won’t last forever, Kyogre is expected to disappear on Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. PT.
Kyogre was the frontman (front-Pokemon?) for the 2003 Pokemon title, Pokemon Sapphire for the Gameboy Advance. The complementary game, Pokemon Ruby, features the fire/ground type, Groudon, which has been capturable in Pokemon GO since last December. Both of which are from the 3rd generation of Pokemon, the most recent generation of Pokemon to be implemented in the mobile game.
The best news is that Kyogre is available in standard Raid battles, compared to Mewtwo, who is only available via the invite-only premium EX Raids. The rare and inconsistent nature of EX Raid invitations has left a fair number of players, both casual and hardcore, rather frustrated.
Stay warm this winter as you hunt down your very own giant fish!
