The world is warming up and the lush green of the jungle is flourishing again. Ok, maybe the jungle is always lush and green. But for the next week, Pokémon GO is sharing in that verdant style.
Going on now until Tuesday, March 29, Niantic will be holding a special Lush Jungle event within Pokémon GO. During this time, special Pokémon will appear, some of which are new, and there will be themed timed research missions available, all based on the jungle island of Akala Island, from Pokémon Sun/Moon. That’s all, nothing extreme or outlandish. Just some thematic Pokémon.
The New Pokémon
The Lush Jungle event will bring three more Pokémon into the official GO roster. All from the Sun/Moon games, this includes Fromantis and Lurantis, as well as the Guardian Deity of Akala Island, Tapu Lele.

- Metapod
- Paras
- Exeggcute
- Hoothoot
- Sudowoodo
- Fomantis
- Ferroseed

- Exeggcute
- Sunkern
- Wurmple
- Seedot
- Cottonee
- Ferroseed

This also marks the beginning of a new season of Special Research based on Akala Island. The story has begun now, so be sure to check it out.
Weekend Park Spotlight
And lastly, the event also has its own weekend park spotlight. Taking place from Saturday, March 26 at 10 AM and lasting until Sunday, March 27, at 8 PM, all of your local parks and public spaces will be flooded with Cottonee, with increased odds of them being shiny.
This is a good week for fans of Grass-type Pokémon! Have fun out there, trainers.
