Pokemon is definitely an international treasure. It’s held close to the hearts of millions and millions of people all over the world, and although it’s one of the world’s most iconic video game/tv franchise, it’s pretty messed up when you think about it.

I mean, the whole concept of Pokemon is pretty crazy if you ask me. You basically torture animals into being your slaves and use them to fight your battles, which is essentially like dog fighting, just with more rare species of animal. Not to mention people just trade around these animals like they’re commodities. Come to think of it, do most Pokemon get a say in any of this? The more I think about it, the more horrifying and ridiculous it seems to be.

Well, I guess it’s not my place to question genius. But this animated skit from Rooster Teeth pretty much sums the Pokemon choosing process up.
