With the release of friends and trading into Pokémon Go recently, it’s no surprise that websites dedicated to finding and organizing trades would spring up.
Developer Niantic hasn’t made it easy. A number of restrictions and limitation exist to keep players from simply trading with strangers online. The biggest limit is that you have to physically be near the other person. You also have to be of a certain friend level with a player before you will be able to trade certain pokémon, such as Legendaries and pokémon you haven’t registered in your Pokedex yet.
This hasn’t stopped Poketrade.me though. This is a web application that lets players list their pokémon, it’s stats and moves, and their location for others to search and find. You can also list pokémon that you’re wanting, and others can see and offer one to you.
The site has personal wishlists that you can share via URL, allowing you to show your friends and followers exactly which pokémon you need. You can filter your searches by location, moves, level and name, allowing you to find exactly what you need.
Best of all, the site as a built-in direct messaging service, allowing you to discuss potential trades with others before committing or having to add them to a third party messaging service.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to share your exact location to participate, they acknowledge one’s need for privacy, and ask for nothing more detailed than a city. You could even list a neighboring city you’re willing to travel to if your hometown is too personal.
The developers of Poketrade.me are working on a mobile app for Android and iOS, though no official release date was given. You can check out the web app at Poketrade.me.
We were not endorsed by this site in any way, I just wanted to share what looks like a rather helpful resource to interested trainers. Happy trading!
