Pokemon Go definitely has a significantly young demographic, but one of the great things about it is the vast audience that it reaches in terms of age. It’s a game that doesn’t require really anything other than the ability to move about the world around you.
Surprisingly enough, there’s a good amount of seniors that play the game on a daily basis for both entertainment, and exercise. It’s a great way to stay in shape, especially when you’ve retired. Take 65-year old Amy KeĀ (via CNET) for instance. She’s as hardcore of a Pokemon trainer as they come.
She gets up every morning at 5 AM to catch a bus that takes her to all of the Pokestops in her neighbourhood, which according to her is much cheaper than buying Pokeballs themselves. Although the bus may be necessary to stock up on items, she gets her daily exercise from catching Pokemon, and she has hit the max level of 40 to prove it.
It goes to show that age is really just a number. Amy Ke spends her days searching for high-level Raid Bosses in gyms since she has basically collected all the Pokemon in the game already. Keep on training Amy, we’re all routeing for you.
