No need to glitch the game, the legendary Mew is arriving to Pokémon GO this week.
The Pokémon arrives alongside a heavier content update. Unlocking and capturing Mew takes place at the conclusion of several story-related missions. Players can now also participate in daily tasks, given to them by the mobile game’s resident Professor Willow.
Known as Field Research Challenges, players can find them by swiping at PokéStops. They task the player with “Pokémon-related activities,” which is presumed to mean capturing specific Pokémon and challenging certain raid battles. The challenges change daily, with multiple being available each day. Completing these challenges will reward the player with stamps. Collecting seven stamps will reward the player with a “Research Breakthrough” that results in a legendary Pokémon battle.
This is the first time the game develops any plot. Professor Willow used to simply disappear as soon as the player finishes the tutorial process. Now he returns to add a bit of story to your daily Pokémon catching experience. According to Niantic, this update will launch on March 30.
