Quite a handful of Legendary Pokémon are appearing in Pokémon GO. Get ready to see Shadow Moltres, the Legendary genies in Incarnate Forme, and even Xerneas and Yveltal. Get ready for a jam-packed month.
Shadow Moltres Event
Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, has a Shadow Moltres for a limited time. Complete the Team GO Rocket Special Research to get the Super Rocket Radar, and use that to track him down. If you can beat him, you have the chance to capture Moltres for yourself.
Galarian Ponyta
From May 1 until June 1, Galarian Ponyta will appear in Research Breakthrough encounters. This regional variation transforms the previously Fire-Type Pokémon into a pink and white unicorn with a Fairy-Type alignment.
Legendaries in Five Star Raids
The following Pokémon will appear in five star Raid Battles at the listed times.
- Tornadus, Thudurus, Landorus (Incarnate Formes).
Now until May 4 - Xerneas, the fae elk.
May 4 until May 18 - Yveltal, the draconic hawk.
May 18 until June 1
To further guarantee a chance, every Wednesday this month at 6-7 PM, there will be a five-star Raid nearby.
Mega Raid Appearances
The following Mega-Evolved Pokémon will appear in Mega Raids at their listed times.
- Mega Venusaur, Mega Lopunny, Mega Abomasnow
Now until May 4 - Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard Y, Mega Lopunny
May 4 until May 15 - Mega Ampharos, Mega Houndoom, A secret Mega Evolution
May 15 until June 1
Pokémon Spotlight Opportunities
If that isn’t enough, there will also be a special spotlight event for certain Pokémon every Tuesday, instead of once a month. From 6-7 PM, these Pokémon will appear more frequently, and will reward double candy for their capture.
